Pneumatics Lab Overview
For starters, we have introduced a whole new way to understand electro pneumatic concepts. After literally going back to the drawing board, we realized that the first step in Electro-pneumatics training had always been wrong. In order to design and understand electro-pneumatics, you don't start on flat trainer boards you use three dimensional models that put students into a position that replicates active industry ergonomics and kinetics. In other words, we considered actual application models before we started thinking about the trainers. Once we approved the mechanics and active learning ergonomics we came to a shocking discovery. Trainer board concepts merely addressed the didactic of connecting components. The actual design concept and problem solving thought processes were conducted outside the trainer board environment. Therefore, It was important that theoretical knowledge be presented in a motivating manner and is secured in the long term. And for practical training to shape skills and cement experience. Fluid Sim P3 "learning by doing" and COSVIS "interactive
learning" have provided a whole new dimension of functionality to
the CAMC classrooms. Trainees discover technology and the functions of
real components through practical exercises. |
With
Fluid SIM P3, you can prepare drawings, which comply with industrial standards
with a level of ease and reliability not achieved by other simulation and
drawing programs. The DDE input and output modules in FluidSIM® 3 offer
you an interface to the PLC. This program provides a practically unlimited
number of low-cost systems for PLC training. The DDE translates the 24V
signals from the PLC into serial data which FluidSIM® can use.Through the DDE, FluidSIM®3 can work together with all DDE-compatible applications in principle. |
COSIVIS
simulates the behavior of Actual manufacturing models and Electro-Pneumatic
stations. The most important elements of these systems are actuators and
sensors. These elements can be addressed either directly via the I/O panel
or via an internal PLC (programmable logic controller) simulated in COSIVIS.
COSIVIS also allows process modules to be driven via an external control system using the sensor/actuator interface. The I/O signals required for this are exchanged via a well-defined Windows DDE interface. |
| Now having completely changed the way students learned electro-pneumatics, this platform will revolutionize pneumatic education and impact industry graduates significantly. The new active learning environment is evident the moment you set foot in our lab. These state of the art changes have allowed CAMC students to absorb nearly 20 percent more curriculum, thus enhancing overall aptitude and performance in the industry.
