Dr. Kenneth J. Ryan

Dr. Ryan is an instructor in the Center for Automation and Motion Control at Alexandria Technical College. He is the founder and director of the Manufacturing Automation Research Laboratory and directs the Automation Systems Integration program at the center.
Dr. Ryan teaches: Electricity, Electronics, Programmable Logic Control, Industrial Automation, and Industrial Networking.

Ken's particular interests involve industrial network architecture and digital motion control. He is dedicated to the dissemination of open control information and is currently conducting research into the use of the Internet for remote monitoring and management of complex machines.

"I believe that the enterprise of tomorrow will experience significant growth as a result of creative implementation of currently developed technology. The person with a vertically integrated technical skill set based on relevant application experience will be most valuable in this environment. Thus, forward-looking, research oriented technical preparatory institutions will play an ever increasing roll in the workplace for the future. I don't think we're in 'TECH SCHOOL' any more Toto."

Ken is a native of Iowa, a failing for which he is shamelessly unrepentant.
